I realize that it takes time. It's not just a wave of a wand and poof- here's a clean, organized house with a red ribbon tied around it. So, we're getting back to the basics. Back to where I started when I realized I was done being a mess. Every Wednesday for the next 10 weeks we will add a new daily task. Something that should be done every day and doesn't take more than a few minutes. By the end of the 10 weeks, you'll be spending less than an hour throughout the day, and the reward will be worth that small amount of time! The longer you do it, the less time you'll spend. Plus, it will become a (here comes one of my favorite words) routine, and you will hardly realize you are doing the tasks.
Your clean, organized, red ribbon tied up house is only 10 short weeks away. Check out the calendar- that brings us right up to the start of...eek...winter. But how nice would it be to decorate your wonderfully shiny house for the holidays? So, are you up for the challenge?
If so, read on. Join me as we fight the dirty together one step at a time
WEEK 1: Make Your Bed
Seems like a simple task, right? I know it doesn't make a HUGE difference in how clean your house is, but it gets you off on the right foot. Leave your bedroom looking neat and tidy in the morning and you are bound to keep that can do attitude going. Plus, I love climbing into a nicely made bed after a long day. siiiiiiiiigh, bed.
So every day, make sure you make your bed. And if you run out of time in the morning- just do it when you get home from work. I won't tell. We'll check in next week to see how you did on this challenge and add a 2nd one to the list!
Oh and don't forget to add the awesome Happy House Cleaning Challenge button to YOUR blog!! The code is at the top of the page on the right. How cute is he? I love that his red ribbon looks like a sweatband. Adorable. (Big ups to my friend Shelly who so graciously helped me with the button!)
I am going to join in and do this with you!!
ReplyDeleteYay! This sounds great. I was doing pretty great at keeping the house together with a "routine" but when I started my masters I let myself slip. I will be making my bed this week. =)

ReplyDeleteI am also a new follower, so I am very excited.
running and a clean house? i'm not going to lie.. i'm a little scurred. i always thought routines were for nerds. but...having more time on my hands does sounds like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, I'm jumping in. Thanks for posting this!
ReplyDeleteI'll join your cleaning challenge! I already make the bed every day, although our bedding is not as cute as yours!
ReplyDeleteThe rule in our house is: the last one to get up and out of bed has to make the bed. It motivates me to jump out of bed some mornings!
Love it!! Signing up and joining in!
ReplyDeleteAlso LOVE the button!
