Happy House Cleaning Challenge: Week 6

Take your right hand and stretch it crosswise to your left shoulder. Now pat. Yes, you deserve a pat on the back! You made it half way through the cleaning challenge! Well, I guess I am giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming that if you are reading this you've been playing along. If not, well then I'm sure you deserved that pat on the back for something else, right?

First things first. Let's see how I did last week. 7/7. That's it. Yup. I finally hit my 7/7 on all the tasks! No forgetting :) It's a good feeling.

Now, second things second. We need a new daily task! I've preached about this one before, so it should be no surprise. I recommend it to anyone who complains about this trouble spot being dirty. You ready? This one is easy, it won't take but 2 minutes. Max.

Week 6: Spray Your Shower

Yep
. That's it. Get yourself a daily shower spray, and shower your shower with some clean goodness once a day. It's easy, because how can you forget? I mean, you do take a shower every day, right? I hate scrubbing the shower, and since I started doing this, which has been months, I've maybe scrubbed my shower once or twice. It truly is a life and time saver.

My spray of choice is Arm & Hammer Daily Shower Spray. But, I like to cater to the greener cleaners as you know, so if you want to go that route, Method makes a daily shower spray as well. Once I'm out of the A&H stuff this time, I'm definitely going to try the Method stuff out! There are also lots of home solutions you can try as well. Spray shower doors with full-strength white distilled vinegar after you’ve squeegeed the glass, or before you step in and turn on the water. It will help release the hard water deposits so they don’t remain on the glass.

So that's it. 2 minutes or less a day to a clean shower!

Let's recap to make sure we haven't forgotten anything:
1. Make Your Bed!
2. Empty the Sink!
3. Clear the Clutter!
4. Sweep the Kitchen Floor!
5. Sort the Mail!

6. Spray Your Shower!

Now, I've been mentioning all this time to post how you've done, tell me how this week went for the challenge, how did you do? I winked, hinted, jumped up and down and waved my arms. There was a reason for all that. For each time you posted your results for the week, you got one entry. There were a total of 40 entries, and according to Random.org:
NIKKI is the winner! Ok, so here is how you claim your prize. Just comment in the post, as always, with your results, and your email address. I'll email you for your mailing address and send your liiiiiiiittle prize. It's just a small thing that will help you with next week's challenge. (It seemed so fun, I bought one for you and me!) You've got 2 days to post in the comments Nikki!

Now are you encouraged to post your results in the comments section? I told you it didn't matter how GOOD you did, just that you check in! So, keep up the good work everyone. We are half way there and I'll make the ending prize a little bigger :)

  5. I just bought the A&H daily shower spray, LOVE IT! I also am going to try out the A&H bathroom cleaner because it's also recommended for hard water (which I have). I'll let you know how I like it!

  6. Yay! I'm so excited to see what I won! (Its even fun to win when you don't even kow what it is!)
I'm still slacking on the bed bigtime (0/7), I only swept the floor once.... But I think I'm near perfect on the others! And this week is another one I'm already on top of - we have the automatic shower cleaner, and it is sooo easy to just push a button when you get out. I agree - since we got it I have to scrub the shower so much less!

Thanks Molly - and keep up with the challenges, these are fun! email: nicole.arnold (@) gmail.com

  8. I'm 7/7 on all tasks. I really like the new one of spraying the shower. I will need to go out and buy the spray. Good idea! Do you have to deep clean the shower first before the spray will work or can I start before doing that?

  9. Dawna- it works best if you start with a clean shower, but you don't HAVE to. However, if you are looking for a good no scrub cleaner, Tilex Mold and Mildew is my favorite. Just plug your nose...
