On top of getting all our clothes packed and ready to load into the car (and Gibson's stuff of course) the night prior to leaving, I have a process for food packaging. All the dry goods go into a reusable shopping bag. This includes any dishes I might need. (The kitchen is minimal up north, so I just like to be prepared)

Then, for the cold products, the cooler bag has enough room for the small amount of food we'll bring. So rather than scramble all those goods together right before we leave, I put them all on one shelf in the fridge. This way, I just toss all those items in the bag, and I know I haven't forgotten anything!

I love your travel tips - one I wanted to add was to photocopy your passport, credit cards, ATM card, anything like that that you are bringing and bring one copy with you and leave a copy at home where someone you know could find it in case something gets lost - then shred when you get home.
