Tackle It Tuesday: On the Move!

I told you all I had a busy week, and I wasn't kidding. Tonight's Tackle It Tuesday was a little bit different than my other weeks, but important nonetheless. We are gearing up for a suuuuuper relaxing weekend, but that means getting my weekly chores done in half the time, not to mention preparing for a weekend away from home. Tonight was designated to errands. Check out just how many I had!

1. Wal-Mart (I never go here, but tonight I stopped in, and I'm glad I did. I got a sweet organizational tool on clearance...it'll be below!)
2. Sam's Club for all my vacation bulk needs!
3. Dry Cleaners
4. Hallmark where I checked a whole slew of things off my "get" list
5. Christian Book Store which was a total disappointment!
6. Sally Beauty Supply which was yet another let down
7. A 2nd Hallmark- hey, it was on the way home! I just need to make sure they didn't have anything else I needed ;)
8. Kroger for the last few things on my grocery list
9. Subway- this girl needed to eat and since it was already almost 8pm, I needed something right away!
10. HOME! Finally...sigh.

Want to see one tool that helped me "keep my cool" during my hours of errands? This little guy is a life saver! It'll buy you a couple hours while running around town. I used it to keep my cool items from the beginning of the trip cold- worked like a charm! Picking up a pizza or a rotisserie chicken from the market? Use this bag to keep it warm! Best $2 I've spent in a long time! Plus, it's reusable, does it get any better?
(No, they are not paying me to say this! I couldn't even tell you what company produces it!)

So, now that I have all the errands done, it's time to make my to do list.

1. Organize all my cooking items, including tools and ingredients to take upstate. We are going with Carl's parents and grandma, so we split the food responsibilities. On my portion of the menu:
  • Beef Enchiladas & Warm Mexican Dip
  • Baked Mac & Cheese with Fresh Steamed Green Beans
  • Orange Cranberry Bundt Cake
  • German Chocolate Cupcakes
2. Write out my regular packing list, pack*
3. Write out Gibson's packing list, pack*
4. Get my hair cut
5. Make the bundt cake
6. Prep all my ingredients to make as little work as possible up north
7. Breathe!

(*I'll be sure to use my vacation packing lists to guide me!)

I've got to get all this done in the next 3 nights. Wish me luck! One last fun thing before I leave you tonight. I told you I got a stellar deal at Wal-Mart, and here it is. I got this set of 3 baskets for a steal, a whole $13! I can't wait to decide what to do with them! I'll be sure to let you know once I do.

So, my errands are tackled to the ground tonight. I can't wait to show you all my hard work paying off when I give you a little glimpse to our slice of heaven on Earth. Watch out this weekend for some spectacular northern Michigan pictures! But for now, and more importantly, what did you conquer tonight?

  2. I like to use those baskets in my linen closets or bathroom closets for hair products, medicine and first aid supplies.

  4. I use a basket like that for my daughter's shoes in her closet (she's only 1 so they hold a lot!) I also have one in the launry room that I keep small containers of things in - like a lint roller, oxy-clean container, dryer sheets, etc.
